Arianna Deane is a Part-time Lecturer at The New School, specializing in architecture and design education. She co-founded A+A+A, a multidisciplinary design studio focused on creating inclusive, collaborative, and joyful spaces. Her research emphasizes community engagement, co-design processes, and sustainable materials.
Deane holds a BA in Architecture from UC Berkeley and a Master of Architecture from Columbia University GSAPP, where she received multiple awards. She has taught at New Jersey Institute of Technology and Rhode Island School of Design, and previously worked as an Adjunct Research Scholar at Columbia’s GSAPP Waste Initiative.
Her studio’s work spans commercial, residential, and speculative projects, prioritizing radical inclusivity by centering affected communities in design processes. Key awards include the Evans Simpson Excellence in Design Prize and Lucille Smyser Lowendish Memorial Prize.
Deane has taught courses like Thesis Prep (PGID 5233) and Design Studio 4: Thesis (PGID 5301) at The New School. Her professional experience includes roles in San Francisco, Naples, and New York City, alongside her academic and studio-based activities.
