Carly Cannell is an Assistant Professor of Interior Design at Parsons School of Design, The New School. With over 25 years of industry experience, she founded multi-disciplinary design collaborative weetu, focusing on integrating business strategy, architecture, branding, and digital interactions across Chicago, New York, and Berlin. Her current research explores sonic ecology, immersive soundscapes, and future-oriented design solutions.
Education: Holds a BIARC degree from the University of Oregon. Professional affiliations include licensed interior designer status and leadership at weetu, which now expands into acoustic environmental studies through Berlin-based collaborations.
Teaching includes courses such as Design Studio 4/5, Immersive Soundscapes, and Impact Exhibit. Courses emphasize thesis development (PGID 5301), spatial design (PUID 4010), and multi-sensory environments (PSCE 2111/3055).
Practice focuses on bridging client strategies with built environments, products, and digital systems. Current initiatives prioritize forward-thinking solutions addressing emerging challenges through cross-disciplinary approaches.
