Ariane Balizet is Professor of English and Associate Dean of Faculty & Engagement at Texas Christian University's AddRan College of Liberal Arts. Holding a Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Minnesota, her research spans Shakespeare studies, early modern literature, and interdisciplinary approaches to gender, race, and cultural representation. Dr. Balizet has published extensively on blood symbolism, girlhood studies, and colonial Caribbean literatures.
Her research focuses on Shakespearean adaptations, early modern identity formation, and the intersections of gender, race, and disability in Renaissance literature. Current projects examine games and colonial competition across English and Spanish literary traditions.
Balizet's publications demonstrate sustained engagement with trauma-informed pedagogy, racial logics in domestic tragedies, and material culture studies. Her scholarship frequently employs feminist and critical race frameworks to analyze bodily representations in early modern texts.

She oversees graduate and undergraduate programs, including Literature Pedagogy and Women & Gender Studies capstone courses. Balizet directs research on transformative Shakespeare applications in organizational leadership.
