Professor Ariadne Vromen is a leading academic in political sociology and digital governance, currently serving as Head of Division of Political and International Studies at the University of Glasgow's School of Social & Political Sciences. Previously, she held the Sir John Bunting Chair of Public Administration at the Australian National University and was a teaching-research academic at the University of Sydney for over 20 years, becoming Professor of Political Sociology in 2015.
Her research focuses on digital politics, citizen engagement, gender equality in work, and policy advocacy. Recent projects include Story Tech: Power, Storytelling and Social Change Advocacy (2025) and Australian Women’s Working Futures (2017-2025), with widespread policy impact and media attention. She also explores knowledge brokering and evidence use in policymaking.
Her 15 most recent publications highlight trends in online petitioning, digital storytelling, gender dynamics in the legal profession, and youth political engagement. Collaborations span institutions like American University, London School of Economics, and ANU.
