Aram Han Sifuentes is an Adjunct Professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). She holds a BA from the University of California, Berkeley (2008) and an MFA from SAIC (2013). Her work bridges feminist pedagogy, craft practices, and community collaboration, addressing themes of memory, trauma, and labor. Sifuentes has exhibited at major institutions including the Renwick Gallery (Smithsonian American Art Museum), Herbert Johnson Museum of Art, and Design Museum London. She has received prestigious awards such as the Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship and 3Arts Award.
Teaching focuses include English language fluency for international students, interdisciplinary art practice development, and craft-based feminism. Courses like Stitch-by-Stitch: Feminism as Practice explore the therapeutic potential of artmaking, while Every Day I'm Hustling prepares students for professional art careers. Her research emphasizes intersectional feminism, community engagement, and decolonial art practices.
Publications include We Are Never Never Other (Illinois State University) and contributions to Art Journal. Exhibitions span institutions like the Pulitzer Arts Foundation and Chicago Cultural Center.
