Roberto Sifuentes

Roberto Sifuentes is a Professor in the Performance department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). As a founding member of the internationally acclaimed performance group La Pocha Nostra, his work explores intercultural relations, radical pedagogy, and political themes through performance and installation art.

His professional highlights include:

• Performances at National Review of Live Art (Glasgow), Arnolfini Gallery (Bristol), and Hemispheric Institute (Buenos Aires)
• Exhibitions at Corcoran Gallery of Art, Detroit Institute of Arts, and El Museo del Barrio

Professor Sifuentes authored 'Exercises for Rebel Artists: Radical Performance Pedagogy' (Routledge, 2011) and co-authored 'Temple of Confessions: Mexican Beasts and Living Santos' (Powerhouse Books, 1997) with Guillermo Gómez-Peña. His work has been featured in Performance Research, TDR: The Drama Review, and Theater Forum publications.
