Dr. Ara J. Schmitt is a Professor of School Psychology and Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Advancement at Duquesne University's School of Education. He holds a Ph.D. from Illinois State University (2001) and a B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1996). His research focuses on neuropsychological assessment, evidence-based interventions for learning disabilities, school-based chronic illness management, and bullying dynamics. Dr. Schmitt has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and textbooks, including Patterns of Learning Disorders (2006) and Theory and Cases in School-Based Consultation (2020).
