Aqueasha Martin-Hammond is an Associate Professor in the Human-Centered Computing Department at Indiana University-Indianapolis (IUI), part of the School of Informatics and Computing. Her research focuses on designing intelligent user interfaces to support older adults' health and wellness, emphasizing persuasive technology, health informatics, and technology adoption barriers. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (HCI focus) from Clemson University, with prior degrees from Tougaloo College and the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
Her work is funded by NSF, NIH, and Google, including a 2022 NSF CAREER Award and a 2020 Google Inclusion Award. Notable research contributions include studies on voice assistant privacy perceptions, health persuasive tools, and participatory design of health technologies.
