April Gu is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Business and Society at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University, since 2019. She holds an undergraduate degree from NYU Stern and a law degree from NYU School of Law.
Her research focuses on the intersection of corporate activism, international law, and human rights outcomes in sectors like infrastructure and energy. She previously served as Associate Director at the NYU Stern Center for Business and Human Rights and worked at an international law firm focusing on project financing in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the U.S.
Gu has published on gender, economic development, and social change. Her work includes analysis of post-Rana Plaza labor reforms in Bangladesh. She received a Fulbright Fellowship to China and contributes to discourse on global corporate responsibility.
