Aparna Samaraweera

Aparna Samaraweera is a Lecturer at UniSA STEM, University of South Australia. She is actively involved in research related to construction project culture, organizational learning in public sectors, offsite construction supply chain resilience, and Building Information Modelling (BIM). Her research has also explored mental well-being of construction workers, particularly in the Australian context. She has been a co-author on multiple research articles and conference proceedings, indicating her ongoing contributions to academic discourse in construction management.

Aparna's research interests focus on understanding and improving construction project cultures, especially in public sectors, while examining the impact of digital technologies like BIM on organizational and professional culture. She has conducted systematic literature reviews, case studies, and content analyses to investigate cultural basic assumptions of construction professionals during negotiations, the effect of work-related factors on mental well-being, and strategies for sustainable infrastructure management.

Aparna's publications cover a broad spectrum of topics including construction industry culture, mental health in construction, supply chain management, BIM applications, and gender equity in the construction industry. Her research has explored how organizational learning can be sustained in public sectors, how BIM impacts organizational culture, and how to enhance supply chain resilience in offsite construction.

She has been involved in research projects that have received institutional support, including the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship for her work on offsite construction supply chain resilience. Her collaborative research has spanned multiple institutions, with contributions to topics such as post-disaster reconstruction, water management, and waste management in construction.

As a member of the UniSA STEM academic community, Aparna contributes to advancing knowledge in construction management.
