Dr. Antonio Navas is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Sheffield's School of Economics. He holds a PhD from the European University Institute (2006) and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at GREQAM (Université d’Aix-Marseille) funded by CNRS. His academic career includes teaching at leading Spanish universities like Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Universidad de Alicante before joining Sheffield in 2012.
Research Interests: Antonio specialises in international trade and economic growth, focusing on topics such as trade liberalisation, foreign direct investment (FDI), technology adoption, innovation, and unified growth theory. His work bridges theoretical models with empirical analysis, examining how trade policies and technological change influence global economic dynamics.
Teaching: He teaches International Trade at both undergraduate (ECN321) and postgraduate levels (ECN605), emphasizing applied economic frameworks and real-world policy implications.
Publications: Antonio has contributed to journals like the World Economy, Journal of Comparative Economics, and Review of International Economics, with a focus on trade policy coordination, innovation spillovers, and the impact of FDI on host economies. His recent work explores post-Brexit regulatory frameworks and gravity models in global trade.
