Associate Professor Anton Klarin is affiliated with the School of Management and Marketing at Curtin University, within the Faculty of Business and Law. He serves as the Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Strategy and International Business (IESIB) Discipline Lead and coordinates the Bachelor of Innovation program. His research focuses on strategic sensemaking in emerging markets, institutional environments, and informetric methods applied to innovation, entrepreneurship, and international business. Prior to academia, he held industry roles in Russia, Germany, Italy, and the UK, including marketing management in logistics and software sectors.
Anton has secured significant external grants totaling over $298,000 from the Australian Department of Defence for projects addressing technological asymmetric advantage in defense, disruptive technologies in cyber/AI domains, and hybrid warfare strategies. He teaches 'Introduction to Innovation Principles' and specializes in systematic analysis, bibliometrics, and large dataset interpretation.
His research interests span technological innovation, national innovation systems, and entrepreneurship in emerging markets. Recent work explores solar energy storage transitions, multistakeholder strategies, and professional ethics in AI. He actively publishes in interdisciplinary journals like Renewable Energy, Journal of Construction Engineering and Management, and IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management.
