Dr. Antoine Hocher is a Wellcome Trust Career Development Fellow at the Department of Genetics (University of Cambridge). He leads the MIMIC lab (Molecular Innovations in Microbial Interactions and Chromatin), focusing on synthetic chromatin systems and molecular mimicry.
- Bachelor in Physics and Master in Systems Biology from École Normale Supérieure, Paris
- PhD in yeast heterochromatin silencing at Institut Curie, Paris (Angela Taddei's lab)
- Postdoctoral work on prokaryotic chromatin systems at MRC-London Institute of Medical Sciences (Tobias Warnecke's lab)
Established his research group in 2024 with support from the Wellcome Trust. His work bridges physics, genetics, and synthetic biology to explore chromatin evolution and engineering.
Scientific Awards:
- Wellcome Trust Career Development Award
Current affiliations include the Department of Genetics at the University of Cambridge, with administrative offices on Downing Street, Cambridge (CB2 3EH).
