Dr Anthony Richards is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology at the Department of Law and Criminology, School of Law and Social Sciences, Royal Holloway, University of London. He serves as co-Director of the MSc in Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism Studies and as School Director of Postgraduate Taught (PGT) Education, reflecting his leadership in academic administration and curriculum development.
His research focuses on critical issues in terrorism and counter-terrorism, including radicalisation, extremism, jihadist ideology, homeland security, and the societal impacts of terrorism. He has extensively published on UK counter-terrorism policy, public and Muslim community attitudes, terrorism in Northern Ireland, and the security challenges associated with major events like the Olympics.
