Anthony Kaufman is an Adjunct Professor at DePaul University's School of Cinematic Arts and a part-time Assistant Professor at The New School. He specializes in teaching documentary studies, film programming, and film journalism. His roles include programming for the Chicago International Film Festival and co-founding DOC10, Chicago's only documentary film festival.
His research and creative activities intersect with independent cinema and documentary storytelling. He has authored/co-authored books such as "Steven Soderbergh: Interviews" and "Hope for Film: From the Frontline of the Independent Cinema Revolutions", and contributes regularly to publications like the New York Times, Variety, and Filmmaker Magazine.
Teaching focuses on courses like Art of Documentary and Non-Fiction Storytelling at DePaul. He maintains active involvement in the film festival circuit and independent cinema advocacy through DOC10 and other initiatives.
