Annsofie Mahrs Träff is a Lecturer at Linköping University, affiliated with both the Department of Social Work (SOCARB) and the Department of Culture and Society (IKOS). Her academic career focuses on elderly care and aging, with particular emphasis on physical activity in special housing environments and organizational leadership within welfare systems.
Dr. Mahrs Träff earned her PhD in Elderly and Aging from Linköping University in 2018, completing her thesis "Physical activity – moving and feeling good." Conditions and dilemmas for physical activity in the elderly: An observational and interview study through the Ageing and Social Change (ASC) department.
Her research interests center on elderly participation, physical activity in special housing, organizational leadership in welfare organizations, and quality assessment in home care services. Drawing from her professional background as a physiotherapist, unit manager, and medical director for rehabilitation, she brings practical healthcare experience to her academic work.
Dr. Mahrs Träff's publication record shows consistent focus on elderly care quality, with recent work examining research circles involving home care recipients and staff to better understand quality metrics. Her studies often employ mixed methods approaches, combining observational data with interviews from multiple perspectives including residents, care staff, and physiotherapists.
Within the university, she primarily teaches in the Social Work program, focusing on practical training (VFU), reflective teams, and organizational leadership. She actively supervises student theses at various academic levels, contributing to the development of future social work professionals.
Currently, she collaborates with the R&D environment at Norrköping Municipality's Health and Care Office on participant-based research studies examining quality in home care services, continuing her commitment to improving elderly care through practical research applications.
