Elisabeth Wiken Telenius is an Associate Professor at Oslo Metropolitan University's Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Rehabilitation Science and Health Technology. She is affiliated with the research groups 'Ageing, Health and Welfare' and 'Physiotherapy Research', focusing on geriatric care, dementia interventions, and rehabilitation technologies.
Her research examines the intersection of physical activity, dementia care, and quality of life in elderly populations. She investigates lived experiences of dementia patients, develops physiotherapy frameworks for dementia care, and explores connections between physical function and mental health in nursing home settings. Her work employs diverse methodologies including qualitative interviews, meta-syntheses, and cross-sectional studies.
Through her publications, Telenius consistently explores dementia care innovations, physical rehabilitation protocols, and psychosocial aspects of aging. Recent work includes developing international capability frameworks for physiotherapists and examining how physical activity routines create meaningful experiences for dementia patients.
She has contributed significantly to knowledge dissemination through:
