Annika Stocker is an academic staff member in literary studies at the University of Heidelberg, affiliated with the Romance Department. Since June 2022, she has been part of the DFG-funded project analyzing the media legacy of Luis Trenker. Her research focuses on South Tyrol’s literary representations, Alpine cultural dynamics, and Italian post-war literature. She contributes to academic governance as a member of the university’s academic council.
Education: She holds a Master’s in German Studies in Cultural Comparison and Italian Literature (2015–2019) and a binational Bachelor’s in German-Italian Studies from Regensburg and Trieste (2012–2015). Former roles include volunteer work at Goethe-Institut Mannheim (2019–2021) and research assistance at the Institute for German as a Foreign Language (2021–2022).
Her current dissertation explores Luis Trenker’s transalpine media branding through film, literature, and self-presentation strategies. Recent publications include a 2024 article in Ruperto Carola and contributions to podcasts like Fabulari. She actively presents at conferences, such as the 38th Romanist Conference in Leipzig (2023) and graduate workshops in Heidelberg-Munich-Vienna (2024).
Memberships include the Association of Italians, German Romance Studies Association, and German-Italian Student Initiative Onde eV.
