Prof. Dr. Isabella von Treskow is a full Professor of French and Italian Literature at the University of Regensburg, holding a W3 chair in Romance Philology. She leads the Institute of Romance Studies and chairs research initiatives on violence and cultural memory. Since November 2024, she is a visiting professor at King's College London. Her roles include University Representative on the Franco-German University Council (DFH) as of 2025. She specializes in literary and cultural analysis of war, genocide, and trauma, with a focus on French-Algerian contexts and 20th-century conflicts. Her work bridges historical documentation (e.g., prisoner of war journals) and contemporary cultural projects like the Berlin Prize-winning Flossenbürg concentration camp podcast. Key affiliations include the AIPI (International Association of Italian Language Professors) and the interdisciplinary Violence Research Group at Regensburg.
