Annie Chalex Boyle is a Professor of Violin at the School of Music, Texas Tech University. An internationally recognized violinist, she has an extensive career as a chamber musician, soloist, orchestral player, and educator. Her performances have been praised for brilliance and emotional depth, and she specializes in classical and contemporary repertoire.
Research interests span violin pedagogy, chamber music collaboration, and contemporary classical composition. Her work includes premiering new pieces and commissioning works for the Harrington String Quartet, which toured globally and was featured in a PBS documentary. She has performed with renowned ensembles across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
Scientific awards and honors include:
- Prize at Seventeen Magazine/General Motors National Competition
- Prize at Irving M. Klein International String Competition
- Finalist in Yehudi Menuhin and Stulberg International Competitions
- Grand Prize Winner (Junior Division) of the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition
Her students have excelled in competitions such as MTNA, ASTA, and Interlochen Summer String Competition, securing positions in regional orchestras nationwide and receiving grants including Texas Tech University Graduate Research Awards.
