Annette Sojic

Annette Sojic is a Senior Professor of Practice in the Department of French and Italian at Tulane University. She joined the department in 2006 and currently serves as Director of the Professional French Program, a role she has held since the 2018-2019 academic year. Her work integrates language education with practical applications in business and community engagement.

Her research and teaching interests focus on language pedagogy, applied linguistics, and professional French training. Since 2014, she has spearheaded curriculum translation projects in collaboration with local French immersion schools, contributing to the development of practical language resources. These initiatives reflect her commitment to service learning and translation studies as tools for educational innovation.

Under her leadership as Director of the Professional French Program, 100% of Tulane candidates have successfully passed the Diplôme de Français Professionnel (DFP) exams administered by the Paris Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie (CCI) over the past three years. This achievement highlights her expertise in preparing students for professional certification in French language competencies.
