Morgane F. Haesen

Morgane F. Haesen serves as Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of French within the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Texas at Austin. Previously, she held an Assistant Professor position at High Point University in North Carolina. Her academic foundation includes a 2022 Ph.D. in French from The Pennsylvania State University, where she developed curriculum and coordinated language programs.

Dr. Haesen pioneers innovative language pedagogy through digital humanities and AI integration, specializing in ungrading methodologies and open educational resources. Her cultural history research excavates marginalized voices via life writings—diaries, correspondence, and memoirs—from francophone borderlands including Alsace-Lorraine during WWI, Castroville, Texas in the 19th century, and Oran, Algeria in the early 20th century. This work bridges archival scholarship with contemporary teaching practices.
