This work established her commitment to patient-centered methodologies through interactive research designs that strengthen empowerment of patients and families.
Dr. Nygård's research program targets clinically relevant quality improvements across individual and structural levels, with core concepts including empowerment, person-centered care, self-care, and e-health. Her work actively investigates healthcare policy implementation across organizational tiers while developing practical frameworks for sustainable care transformation through improvement knowledge and leadership education.
She supervises doctoral researchers including Johanna Falck from Jönköping University's School of Health, extending her mentorship beyond institutional boundaries to cultivate next-generation healthcare scholars focused on patient-centered innovation.
