Annette Gisevius

Annette Gisevius is an Honorary Professor (part-time) at Karlshochschule International University since 2019, specializing in teaching and research focused on civil society, Service Learning, intercultural communication, and didactics. She holds a background in cultural studies from Leuphana University (Germany) and Angelo State University (USA).

Her research interests emphasize intercultural learning in global contexts, experience-based pedagogies, and the practical implementation of Service Learning. She has extensive experience in training and project management with organizations such as AFS Intercultural Encounters, InterCultur gGmbH, and EXPO 2000.

Gisevius has authored/co-authored key publications on intercultural training methods, such as Interactive Training Methods Volume 2 (2019) and training materials like Caleidoscopio Cards (2013/2015). Her work bridges academic research with practical tools for intercultural competence development in educational and organizational settings.

Her career includes roles as Head of Training at InterCultur, Team Leader for Intercultural Learning at AFS, and project management in international youth exchange programs. She is certified as a Betzavta trainer, ToP© moderator, and administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI).
