Anneli Albi

Professor Anneli Albi specializes in comparative constitutional law and EU law at Kent Law School. She leads the ERC-funded project 'The Role of National Constitutions in European and Global Governance', examining constitutional adaptations to supranational integration. Her award-winning co-edited book analyzes constitutional practices across 29 jurisdictions.

Research focuses on erosion of constitutional rights under EU law and judicial review mechanisms. Professor Albi teaches EU constitutional law and comparative constitutionalism, emphasizing intersection of national sovereignty and supranational governance. She has advised EU institutions on enlargement and constitutional reforms.

Current work develops a comparative framework analyzing constitutional traditions in response to EU governance challenges. Professor Albi collaborates with constitutional courts and participates in pan-European research networks on constitutional identity.
