Dr. Anneke Petzsche is a faculty member and researcher at the Faculty of Law, Humboldt University of Berlin, specializing in criminal law and criminal procedure. She holds a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. from Oxford. She is currently leading the DFG-funded project titled "Criminal Procedure as a Political Weapon" and is on leave to focus on this research initiative.
She has received multiple teaching awards, including the 2024 Teaching Prize for her work in criminal law working groups and the 2023 Teaching Prize for courses taught by young academics at the Faculty of Law. Her research spans international and European criminal law, with a focus on human rights challenges, terrorism legislation, and comparative criminal justice systems.
Dr. Petzsche has been actively involved in organizing and contributing to high-profile academic events, including international conferences and interdisciplinary research collaborations. Her work reflects a strong commitment to legal education, critical legal studies, and transnational legal cooperation.
