Prof. Dr. Ali B. Norouzi is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Law of Humboldt University Berlin and leads seminars for legal trainees at Berlin’s Kammergericht. He is a renowned criminal defense attorney specializing in appellate litigation, co-founding the law firm WidmaierNorouzi in Berlin. He serves on Fair Trials International’s Legal Experts Advisory Panel and is a member of the Strafrechtsausschuss of the Deutschen Anwaltvereins.
Education: Studied law in Saarbrücken (Germany), Québec (Canada), and Tübingen (Germany), earning both first and second legal state exams. Completed a PhD on transnational evidence in criminal proceedings, awarded the Teufel-Stiftung Prize (2008).
Research focuses on international criminal procedure law, transnational evidence, and legal ethics. Regularly publishes on criminal law topics, with a specialization in appellate procedures and constitutional law challenges.
Awarded 'Germany’s Top Lawyers' by Focus magazine in 2013, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
