Anne von Bibra is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Dance at St. Olaf College. She joined the faculty in 1987 after earning a Master's in Dance with a specialization in Ethnology from UCLA. Her research focuses on dance transmission, continuity/change in German dance traditions, and the political use of folk dance. She teaches technique and theory courses including Ballroom Dance, International Dance Traditions, and World Dance Traditions, blending classroom and studio methods.

Her fieldwork in Germany's Franconia region informed her master's thesis on 20th-century dance events. She actively engages with global dance cultures, performing with Minneapolis-based Ethnic Dance Theater (since 1988), St. Paul's Sumunar Gamelan Ensemble, and founding St. Olaf's Veselica international dance ensemble. She also serves as Secretary/Treasurer for the Ethnochoreology Study Group of the International Council for Traditional Music.
