Tomas Tamayo is a Lecturer in Dance and Cultural Studies at the College of Performing Arts, Chapman University. With a multidisciplinary background as a choreographer, dancer, director, visual artist, and vocalist, he bridges concert modern dance, Balinese and Javanese dance drama, Philippine folk dance, film, musical theater, and television. His career spans international collaborations, education, and performances.

Tamayo studied at CalArts (BFA/MFA), Harvard (dance history), Santa Reparata Graphic Art Center (printmaking/art history), and London Contemporary Dance School (dance anthropology). He received an Artist-in-Residence grant from the California Arts Council and served on arts council panels in Southern California.
His scientific award includes an ensemble acting award from the American College Theater Festival. Tamayo has collaborated with luminaries like KRT Wasitodinigrat and worked with institutions such as the Carson-Dominguez Symphony and Border Arts Workshop.
