Anne Muxel is a CNRS Research Professor and Deputy Director of the Center for Political Research (CEVIPOF) at Sciences Po. She serves on the editorial boards of the Revue française de sociologie and the journal Projet, and is an elected member of the Management Board of CEVIPOF and the Department of Political Science at Sciences Po.
Her research specializes in political sociology, examining how individuals engage with democratic systems through:
- Political behavior and socialization processes
- Generational transmission of political values
- Youth political identity formation
- Sociology of intimacy and memory politics
- Impact of COVID-19 on social relations
Muxel has authored influential books including L'Autre à distance. Quand la pandémie touche à l'intime (2021) on pandemic intimacy, Une jeunesse engagée (2022) analyzing youth activism, and Ils m'ont jamais lâché (2024) exploring relationships between youth and social workers in marginalized communities. Her publications demonstrate consistent focus on political sociology, generational studies, and methodological innovation in survey research.
