Her research focuses on the sociology of international justice, examining how states and international institutions manage transitions from authoritarianism and respond to terrorism. She leads work within the multidisciplinary ProMeTe research team on the 2015–2016 terrorist attack trials in France, emphasizing the role of victims. Her scholarship also explores bottom-up peacebuilding and the transnational circulation of legal norms and expertise, particularly in Latin America and South Africa.
Dr. Lefranc has held significant institutional roles, including Deputy Scientific Director at the CNRS Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences (2017–2022), and has contributed to academic governance through the CNRS National Committee. She has been actively involved in research leadership and evaluation, managing portfolios across sociology, political science, and law. While no specific students are listed, her supervisory roles in research teams and PhD committees suggest extensive mentorship. She is a key figure in advancing critical perspectives on justice and memory in post-conflict and post-terrorism societies.
Her work is supported by ongoing research projects and institutional affiliations with CNRS and Sciences Po, and she continues to contribute to public discourse through media engagements and academic publications.
