Anne-Marie Cummins

Anne-Marie Cummins is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the Health and Social Sciences department of the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). Her work bridges social science and psychodynamic models, focusing on professional dilemmas in education, psychotherapy, and consultancy.

• Education: Masters in Psychoanalytic Studies (University of Sheffield), RSA Counselling in the Development of Learning, Diploma in application of group-analytic principles to group work

Research Interests: Explore the psycho-social dimensions of childhood and therapeutic childcare, organizational dynamics, and innovations in qualitative research. Her approach integrates systems thinking, family therapy, and psychodynamic frameworks.

Collaborations: Active in the Centre for Psychosocial Studies' Professional Learning Community, Educational Psychology Management Group (Bristol City Council), Association of Family Business Advisors, International Centre for Families in Business, and William Allanson White Institute (New York). She also collaborates with Mulberry Bush School, Oxon.

Teaching Specialisms: Sociology and psychodynamics of childhood, research methods (quantitative and psycho-social), and psychoanalytic theory. She contributes to CPSS/UWE Professional Learning Community initiatives.
