Anne Loft is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Southern Denmark, and a member of the ATLAS - Center for Functional Genomic Studies of Tissue Plasticity. She actively investigates the molecular cross-talk between transcriptional regulation and metabolism, with a focus on adipose tissue and liver interactions.
Her research spans genomics, metabolic diseases, and transcriptional networks, particularly in adipose tissue plasticity and hepatic metabolism. Recent work includes single-cell transcriptomics of adipose tissue during weight loss and epigenetic mechanisms in liver fibrosis.
Key collaborative projects include "Uncovering a driving role of adipose tissue in metabolic-associated liver fibrosis" (2023–2028) and "Role of epigenetic modifiers in diabetic complications". She has contributed to high-impact journals like Cell and Nature Metabolism, with emerging work on circadian rhythms and enhancer regions.
