Anne Le Flèche is a senior researcher and Principal Investigator at the Pasteur Institute, leading the Bacterial Identification Pole (PIB). Her work focuses on molecular bacteriology, specializing in the identification of "difficult" bacteria (those resistant to isolation and cultivation) through advanced sequencing techniques. She collaborates with the Rothschild Foundation, Curie Institute, and university hospitals across France.
- Technical Expertise: 16S rRNA Gene Sequencing, rpoB/hsp65 Analysis, Level 2/3 Biosafety Labs
- Research Themes: Neonatal ocular infections, environmental extremophiles, tropical infectious disease outbreaks
Her recent publications emphasize vaccine development (mRNA-OspA for Lyme disease), neonatal uveitis caused by Spiroplasma ixodetis, and discovery of novel bacteria like Rahnella sikkimica from Himalayan glaciers. She has contributed to over 6,000 bacterial strain identifications since 2000.
