Dr. Anne Killett is an Associate Professor in the School of Health Sciences at the University of East Anglia. Her research focuses on improving the quality of care for older adults through participatory methodologies, with particular emphasis on care home organizational culture and care home residents' quality of life. She leads major national research initiatives including the DACHA study and the Care Home Activity Providers project, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research. Her work addresses challenges in dementia care, multimorbidity management, and inclusive research practices for vulnerable populations. Dr. Killett has held continuous academic roles since 2003, complemented by over two decades of clinical experience in occupational therapy across mental health and disability sectors.
Education includes a Doctorate in Education (2005), MA in Applied Research in Education (1996), and professional qualifications in occupational therapy (1985). Teaching encompasses qualitative research methods, evidence-based dementia care, and occupational therapy interventions. Her research has contributed to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health equity and aging populations.
Key projects (2023-2027) include developing sleep management tools for dementia patients, care reviews for neurodivergent populations, and training programs for physiotherapists. Over 89 peer-reviewed outputs demonstrate her leadership in care home research, public involvement methodologies, and policy-informed healthcare innovation.
