Anna van Duijvenvoorde is an Associate Professor in Developmental and Educational Psychology at Leiden University, within the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. She co-founded the research platform CHANGE Leiden, focusing on understanding adolescent brain and mind development. Her work explores how social contexts and brain maturation influence decision-making, risk-taking, and learning in adolescents. She is also involved in teaching at both BSc and MSc levels, including courses in Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychology, and School Psychology.
Her research employs behavioral experiments, neuroimaging, computational modeling, and longitudinal studies to investigate topics such as peer influence, academic resilience, and social learning. Key honors include the Heineken Young Scientist Award (2020) and membership in the Young Academy Leiden (YAL).
Dr. van Duijvenvoorde collaborates on initiatives like the podcast series Breingeheim, addressing topics such as social anxiety, peer pressure, and brain training, translating scientific findings for public engagement.
