Rüya Akdağ is a PhD candidate and researcher at Leiden University's Cognitive Psychology unit within the Social and Behavioural Sciences faculty. She is affiliated with the CoPAN Lab, focusing on social anxiety and digital intervention development. Her project 'Mind the Body' investigates how cognitive/affective disturbances influence social anxiety and evaluates accessible app-based interventions for adolescents. She holds a BSc from Radboud University and an MSc (Cum Laude) from Leiden University, with thesis research awarded the Jan Brouwer Thesis Prize (2021). Supervised by Prof. Mariska Kret and Dr. Milica Nikolica, her work integrates behavioral, cognitive, and physiological measures to advance understanding of social anxiety mechanisms.
