Anna Sophia Tiedeke

Anna Sophia Tiedeke is a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (MPIL) in Heidelberg since November 2023, working within the humanet3 research group. She concurrently pursues her doctoral studies (J.S.D) at Humboldt University of Berlin under Prof. Mattias Kumm, focusing on digital normative encounters.

Her research spans international law theory, technology governance, and digital constitutionalism, with particular expertise in platform regulation and normative pluralism. Her work critically examines how digital spaces reconfigure traditional state-centric legal frameworks through concepts like 'statification' and 'contact zones'.

Tiedeke's publications reveal a strong trajectory in analyzing interactions between international institutions, private platforms, and users. Her recent scholarship explores the legitimacy vacuum in cyberspace, oversight mechanisms for social media content, and the theoretical foundations of digital constitutionalism, demonstrating interdisciplinary engagement with law, technology, and political theory.
