Anna Schwarzinger

Anna Schwarzinger is a doctoral candidate and Scientific Associate at Europa-Universität Flensburg, affiliated with the Institute of German Studies and the Institute for Special Education. She holds a Master's in Germanistik und Medien from the University of Innsbruck and is currently pursuing her PhD at EUF. Her research focuses on intercultural literature, ecocriticism, and cultural transfer, with a particular interest in the Anthropocene and contemporary German literature. She has organized academic events such as the 2025 EUF+CAU Workshop on Inclusion and Exclusion and contributed to interdisciplinary conferences globally. Active in academic networks, she serves on the Promotionsausschuss of Faculty II, leads the EUF’s Doktorand:innen-Netzwerk, and participates in institutions like the Interdisciplinary Centre for European Studies (ICES) and the Center for Research on Environment, Sustainability and Transformation (CREST). Her work bridges literary analysis with cultural and ecological discourse, emphasizing entanglements in literature and society.

Research Interests: Explores how literature navigates intercultural and ecological challenges in the Anthropocene. Her work combines actor-network theory with analyses of contemporary narratives addressing environmental crises and cultural intersections. Recent projects include co-editing a special issue on intercultural ecologies and presenting at international conferences on topics like Doggerland literature and climate narratives.
