Anna Olszewska

Prof. Anna Olszewska is a Professor of Art at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music (Białystok Branch), affiliated with the Faculty of Instrumental-Pedagogical Studies, Music Education, and Vocal Studies. She earned her doctorate in 2007, habilitation in 2013, and professor title in 2020. Her academic roles include organizing conferences, authoring publications, supervising doctoral dissertations, and serving as Head of the Department of Artistic Education (2013-2016). She also coordinates education quality assurance initiatives.

Her research focuses on choral conducting, music education, vocal pedagogy, and sacred music performance. She pioneers innovative choir training methodologies and promotes contemporary Polish choral compositions, having premiered over 30 dedicated works.

Major honors include:

• Medal of the Commission of National Education (2011)
• Badge of Merit for Polish Culture (2019)
• Two Rector's Awards from Fryderyk Chopin University (2013, 2018)
• 10 international Best Conductor prizes (2012-2020)
• Scholarships from Białystok Mayor for artistic excellence

She founded/directs:

• Interschool Girls' Choir (3rd General Secondary School, Białystok)
• Schola Cantorum Bialostociensis choir (I.D. Paderewski Music School)

These ensembles won 170+ awards including 8 Grand Prix titles. She also curated the national Choral Academy – Singing Poland program funded by Poland's Ministry of Culture.
