Wioletta Miłkowska

Prof. Dr. Hab. Wioletta Miłkowska is a renowned choral conductor and academic at the Faculty of Instrumental-Pedagogy, Music Education and Vocal Studies of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, Białystok Branch. She has taught choral conducting since 1990 and served as Head of the Department of Choral Conducting (2012–2016) and a member of the University's Scientific Council (2016–2020). As artistic director of the Białystok University of Technology Choir (since 1997) and Białystok Provincial Police Headquarters Choir (since 2005), she has performed internationally across Europe, Canada, and the USA, earning numerous awards and jury invitations.

Her academic research focuses on funeral compositions, culminating in the dissertation Requiem in the Works of Polish Composers. She has authored and edited books on Polish choral music and organized conferences like The National Trend in the Works of Polish Composers and In the Circle of Polish Choral Music. For decades, she has championed youth choral activism in Podlasie, directing educational projects such as Rozsdmuchany Białystok and co-founding the International Baltic Sea Choir.
