Anna Maria Lorusso is a Full Professor in the Department of the Arts at the University of Bologna, specializing in Semiotics and Cultural Studies. She serves as Director of the First Cycle Degree in Communication Sciences and the Master in Publishing, and chairs multiple academic programs. Her research focuses on memory studies, cultural trauma, media discourse, and semiotic analysis of visual and textual cultures.
Education includes a Philosophy degree from Bologna University (1996), a Ph.D. in Semiotics (2002), and postdoctoral fellowships. She has held visiting roles at institutions like the International Center on Memory (San Marino University) and is President of the Italian Association for Semiotic Studies.
Research interests span rhetorical-discursive dimensions of culture, collective narratives, and the semiotics of memory.
