Anna-Leigh Stone is an Associate Professor of Finance and Hackney Family Research Fellow at Samford University's Brock School of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Alabama, where she also earned advanced degrees in economics and finance.
- Research Focus: Banking regulations, deposit insurance, corporate cash holdings, liquidity policies, and financial crises.
- Key Collaborations: Research with Jack Cheng, William B. Hankins, and others on political uncertainty and liquidity.
Her work examines how regulatory changes and macroeconomic uncertainty affect financial institutions and corporate decision-making. Recent publications analyze payday loans, bank deregulation impacts, and funding stability post-crisis. Stone received the 2020 Brock School of Business Outstanding Research Award.
