Her research primarily focuses on the sociology of dirty work, stigma management, and community-based healthcare models, particularly the Lindsay Leg Clubs network. She examines how social relations in stigmatized communities, especially in wound care settings, can fuel social innovation for individual empowerment and collective emancipation. Her methodological approach centers on qualitative research, including ethnography and critical realist perspectives, with secondary interests in entrepreneurship and digital transformation of work.
Analysis of her recent publications reveals a strong thematic focus on dirty work theory as applied to healthcare contexts, particularly wound care. She has made significant contributions to understanding stigma management in clinical settings, the relational dynamics between care providers and recipients in stigmatized work, and the socio-material aspects of dirty work. Her work on the Lindsay Leg Club model demonstrates how community-based volunteer organizations can address the social dimensions of chronic wound care while challenging traditional healthcare boundaries.
Dr. Galazka is available for postgraduate supervision, currently advising Jill Jones Jones. She has secured multiple research grants including ESRC Impact Acceleration Awards for 'Supporting women entrepreneurs in Wales through the Covid-19 crisis' (Spring 2021) and 'Scoping a digital communication solution for Lindsay Leg Clubs' (Summer 2022), as well as CARBS Seedcorn Funding for 'Conceptualising innovative community volunteering' (Winter 2021).
Her work extends beyond academia through practical engagement with community healthcare organizations, particularly the Lindsay Leg Clubs network, which provides community-based care for people with leg ulcers. She has presented her findings at Parliamentary Reception in the House of Commons to highlight the global problem of chronic wounds and related conditions.
