Anna Farmery

Dr. Anna Farmery is a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS) within the Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Wollongong. Her work focuses on terrestrial and marine food systems, emphasizing their intersections with human and environmental health. She leads projects on sustainable diets, fisheries management, and food systems analysis in the Pacific region, supported by grants from ACIAR and ARC DECRA.

Her research interests include integrating food and nutrition into fisheries policies, improving food system governance in Timor-Leste and the Pacific, and analyzing the social and economic impacts of tuna industries. She currently supervises PhD candidates exploring equitable nutrition policies in the Philippines and sustainable seafood practices in Kiribati.

Anna contributes to academic reviewing for journals like Nature Food and Aquaculture, and serves as a member of the Australian Society for Fish Biology. Her work bridges environmental science, policy, and human health to address global food security challenges.
