Anna Binta Diallo is an Assistant Professor at the School of Art, University of Manitoba. She holds an MFA in Creative Practice from Transart Institute (2013), a Graduate Certificate in Digital Technologies from Concordia University (2009), and a BFA Honours from the University of Manitoba (2006).
Her practice examines visual cultures through memory, nostalgia, and otherness, blending collage, sculpture, and installation to explore identity at the intersection of Franco-Manitoban and Senegalese heritage. Recent projects include Wanderings and Voyageur/Almanacs, which interrogate diasporic identities, historical traumas, and ecological relationships.
Scientific awards and grants include: Sobey Art Award Longlist (2022), Barbara Spohr Memorial Award (2021), Canada Council for the Arts Explore and Create grants (2021), and Francofonds support (2018). She has held residencies at The Banff Centre (2013, 2014, 2019) and Centre SAGAMIE (2021).
