Anna Benrick

Anna Benrick is an Associate Professor of Biomedicine at the University of Skövde's School of Health Sciences, where she has led her own research group since 2015. With over 20 years of experience in endocrinology, metabolism, and reproduction, her work focuses on the relationship between androgen excess and conditions including mental illness, reproductive disorders, obesity, and type 2 diabetes in women. She returned to academia in 2010 after completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the Garvan Institute for Medical Research, funded by the Swedish Research Council.

Dr. Benrick's research program centers on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), investigating underlying mechanisms and developing new treatment approaches. Her work spans multiple disciplines including endocrinology, metabolism, reproductive biology, and neuroscience, with particular emphasis on adiponectin signaling, transgenerational effects of androgen exposure, and metabolic complications of PCOS.
