Sheng Wu, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Temple University, affiliated with the Center for Metabolic Disease Research and the Department of Medical Genetics and Molecular Biochemistry. Their research focuses on metabolic and reproductive dysfunction in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), including insulin signaling, obesity, diabetes, and infertility in females.
- Education: PhD in Molecular Endocrinology, University of Victoria, Canada; Postdoctoral fellowship, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
- Memberships: Society of Endocrinology, American Diabetes Association.
Research Interests span PCOS, androgen receptor mechanisms, trained immunity, neuroendocrine regulation, and metabolic-inflammatory interactions in cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. Key methodologies include mouse models, metabolomics, and epigenetic analysis.
Publications (2025–2022) highlight roles of CD155/CD274 in aortic diseases, androgen receptor dynamics in metabolic health, TMAO's contribution to trained immunity, and epitranscriptomic regulators in atherosclerosis and tumors. Their work emphasizes cross-talk between metabolic syndrome and immune pathways.
- Scientific Awards: New Investigator Award (American Physiology Society), Early Investigator Award (Endocrinology Society).
