Ann Marie Garran, PhD, MSW, LCSW is an Associate Professor at the University of Connecticut School of Social Work. Her academic work focuses on social work education and practice with a strong emphasis on anti-oppressive approaches and addressing systemic inequalities.
Dr. Garran's research interests include:
- Power, privilege and oppression as it pertains to social work education, including field instruction and advising
- Anti-oppressive social work practice, particularly anti-racism
- Intergroup dialogue
