Carol R. Awasu

Carol R. Awasu is a Professor of Social Work, Chair of the Social Work Department, and Director of the MSW Program at Quinnipiac University since 2019. Her work emphasizes macro social work practice, focusing on social policy, anti-racism, anti-oppression, and international social work, with a commitment to marginalized communities.

Her research spans Caribbean women, immigrant families, spirituality in social work, and workforce development. Recent publications highlight dual-degree programs for diversity, interventions against intimate partner violence in Jamaica, and spirituality's role in student stress management.
